What We Learned from User Feedback

Conversations with users surfaced a few friction points in the previous design:

• It wasn't clear that entering your own email isn't required to transfer files.
• Many didn't realize they could create a shareable download link instead of emailing recipients.
• The upload box felt cramped after selecting files.

What's New in the ZappFiles Upload Box

Based on that feedback, here's what changed:

Clear Options for Sharing

• A simple toggle between Get a Link and Send an Email.
• Default selection is Get a Link for quick, no-friction sharing.

Simpler Email Field

• The email field now clearly shows “optional” to reduce confusion.

Cleaner Layout

• Optional fields like “Title” live in the settings tab, keeping the file transfer flow focused.

Improved File Overview

• We removed the cramped file list from inside the upload box.
• Selected files and folders now appear outside the box with:
  • More information per file
  • Clear previews
  • One-click delete
  • Scrollable layout for large selections
