Upload Settings
Before you start your upload, you can adjust several settings to control how your transfer works. These options are found in the settings panel next to your file list.
Title
Give your upload a descriptive title. This title shows up on the download page and in your upload history, making it easy to find transfers later. The title is also used as the name for the downloaded ZIP file. If you leave it empty, the download defaults to "zappfiles.zip".
Expiry
Use the slider to set how many days your files stay available. The default is 7 days. The maximum depends on your plan:
- Without an account - up to 10 days
- Free plan - up to 14 days
- Pro plan - up to 60 days
- Max plan - up to 365 days
After the expiry date, your files are permanently removed and the download link stops working.
Quick actions
Above the upload settings you will find a row of three quick action buttons: delete after download, server region, and password protection. Each button lights up in blue once a setting is active, so you can see at a glance what is turned on for the current transfer. Click a button again to open its options and change or clear the setting.
Server location
ZappFiles stores your files on servers in multiple regions around the world. By default, we automatically pick the server closest to you for the fastest speeds - this is the "Default" option in the region button dropdown. On Pro and Max plans, you can override that and manually pick one of four regions:
- Eastern United States
- Western United States
- Europe
- Asia
Picking a server closer to your recipient can improve their download speed. It also lets you control where your data is physically stored. To return to automatic selection, just pick "Default" again from the dropdown.
Delete after download
Available on Pro and Max plans. When turned on, your files are automatically deleted after they have been downloaded. This is useful for sensitive files that should only be accessed once. After the first download, the transfer is removed and the link stops working.
Password protection
Available on Pro and Max plans. Click the lock button to set a password on your transfer. Recipients will need to enter this password on the download page before they can see the file list or download anything. You can update or remove the password at any time from the same button. Download page template
On Pro and Max plans, you can choose which download page template your recipients see. There are currently two templates available: a clean light design and a dark cinematic layout. Read more about this in the Download Page Templates guide.
