Downloading Files on iPhone
When someone sends you a ZappFiles link and you have the iOS app installed, the link opens directly in the app instead of Safari. You get the same download page as on the web, but with native iOS save options through the share sheet.
Opening a link in the app
Tap a ZappFiles link from Messages, Mail, or any other app. iOS recognises the link and routes it directly to ZappFiles. You see the download page: who sent it, the title, the file count, total size, and when it expires.
If the transfer is password-protected, you're prompted for the password before the file list shows. If it has expired, the page shows an expiry message instead.
Downloading individual files
Each file in the list has a download button next to it. Tap it and the iOS share sheet pops up immediately, asking where you want to send the file. Pick Save Image (for photos), Save to Files (for any file type), AirDrop, Mail, or any third-party destination iOS knows about.
The download itself runs only after you pick a destination, so you're not pulling bytes you don't need. While the file downloads, a progress banner appears at the top of your screen showing percentage and bytes transferred. If you change your mind, tap the X on the banner to cancel.
Downloading everything at once
If a transfer has multiple files and you want them all, tap Download all files at the top. iOS shows the share sheet once for the batch. Pick a destination and every file downloads in turn, each routing to the same destination. Progress for the whole batch is shown in the banner.
Previewing photos before download
For photos and videos, the file tile shows a preview thumbnail. Tap the tile (not the download button) to open a full-screen preview with pinch-to-zoom. This is useful for checking which photos you actually want before downloading anything.
What if I don't have the app installed
ZappFiles links work fine in Safari without the app. The web download page renders normally and gives you the same download-individual-files or download-all options. Recipients don't need to install anything to use a link you send them.
The iOS app just makes things smoother on iPhone. Links open natively, downloads route through the iOS share sheet, and the interface matches everything else on your phone.
